According to Gokul Raj, her daughter, who is a Scouts leader, was asked by her teacher to keep the class orderly on September 28. “Then, the three boys were playing with a pen. The teacher, who noticed them, had asked my daughter to take the pen away from them. She too got the pen from the boys and handed it over to her teacher,” he said.
After the teacher left the class, the three boys, however, attacked the girl on her face, resulting in her sustaining severe injuries. She also caught a fever and failed to recover despite medication.
The girl was subsequently taken to a private hospital where she was learnt to have suffered fractures on the face. Her eyesight had also been affected in the attack, and the doctors have now recommended a surgery, Gokul Raj said.
Following this, the girl’s parents had approached the school demanding action against the boys. “I approached twice on Thursday and Friday, but the school asked me to come back after treating my daughter. Hence, I lodged a complaint with the police,” Gokul Raj said.
On receiving the complaint, the Peelamedu police issued a community service register copy (CSR). Further inquiries are on.
